ARTIST  BIOGRAPHY

Born in the United States and living in Greece, as well as traveling throughout Europe, for a number of years throughout her life, Thalia Stratton has experienced that rare cultural mix of Europe and California. 
In fact, Ms. Stratton credits the European sense of elegance, style and cultural history with having a profound effect on her work.  It was no coincidence that she established a second studio in Greece shortly after graduation.

Back home, Ms. Stratton also established Fashionable Images Studio, now located in San Francisco, upon her 1989 graduation with an Honors Cooperative Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration from the University of San Francisco/Academy of Art College.  Ms. Stratton has owned and operated Fashionable Images Studio since 1989 and has developed a diverse clientele.   Both a commercial and fine artist, some of Ms. Stratton's clients include: Givenchy, Paris, Playboy Magazine, Neiman Marcus, the former I Magnin & Co., Holiday Inn, Nature Company, San Francisco Ballet, Gentry Magazine, San Jose Mercury News, BR Cohn Winery, Glen Ellen, California and Ledson Winery & Vineyards, Sonoma Valley, California.

PORTRAITS

Ms. Stratton's portraits adorn the private homes of Charlotte Swig-Schultz, Former Head Protocol, City of San Francisco, the Honorable Susan Hammer, former Mayor of San Jose, The Honorable Art Agnos, former Mayor of San Francisco, Rod Diridon, former Member of the Board of Supervisors of Santa Clara County, Cynthia Robbins, columnist for the San Francisco Examiner, Mary Gottschalk, former columnist for the San Jose Mercury News, Leigh Weimers, columnist for the San Jose Mercury News and Elsie Floriani, publisher of Gentry Magazine - Menlo Park, California.

COMMERCIAL INTERIORS

Since 1996,Thalia has focused her efforts on crafting artwork suitable for commercial interiors, such as restaurants and hotels.  Ms. Stratton's established clients include: Megabyte Pizza Co, Silicon Valley, Canyon Creek Plaza, Silicon Valley, The Lighthouse Hotel in Pacifica, California; Max's Restaurants, and the restaurants owned and operated by Filfillment Systems, Inc., Frankie, Johnnie and Luigi Too!. Giorgio's Pizza, and Nicolino's in Saratoga, Mountain View and Santa Clara, California, as well as the historic "Westlake Joe's" in Daly City, just outside of San Francisco.

TEACHING

Ms. Stratton tought at Apparel Arts, a private and distinguished fashion design studio south of Market Street in San Francisco.  She has also taught illustration part-time at the Sewing Workshop, San Francisco, CA, Academy of Art University in San Francisco; Canada College in Redwood City, California:  San Francisco City College and West Valley College in Saratoga, California.  Her studio has developed different gift lines including hand-made stationery, and hand-painted linens in addition to her fine art work.
